Cheese-potatoes with kohlrabi

Petra from Chili und Ciabatta cooked the Sennen-cheesepotatos for her son, a ” lover of molten cheese”. I have a lover of molten  cheese  at home, too, so I tried the cheesepoatos directly. My boyfrind enthusiastic so I cooked the recipe this week again. It is really delicious: I changed just one little thing: I added some Kohlrabi.

Cheese-potatoes with kohlrabi

  • 1Tbs butter
  • 500g waxy potatoes
  • 500g kohlrabi
  • 2 onions
  • 150g Edamer (orignial: young alpine cheese)
  • 100ml cream
  • chives
  • nutmeg
  • salt
  • pepper

Peel potatoes and kohlrabi and cut them into small cubes. Cut cheese and onions into cubes, too.

Heat a non-sticking pan and melt the Butter in it. Add potatos and kohlrabi and roast gently, then cover with a lid and reduce the heat.Shake the pan every few minutes to prevent sticking. When the potatoes are nearly done, add the onions and roast untill everything is cooked. Now add the cheese, and pour the seasoned cream over it. Cover again with the lid and heat it unitll the cheese is molten.

Serve with salad.
