Retrospection of 2010

Jahresrückblick 2010

Can you believe it? The year 2010 is nearly gone. And like last year I would like to remember not the political crisis, weather chaos and volcanic eruptions but bread and rolls, delicious pastry and great quiches. And when I look through the post of the last year I realize that I tested a lot of new recipes. And I realize that I should bake some of them again. And like last year I picked 12 of my favourite recipes and make a Collage out of them.

Beginning in the upper left corner of the collage I will tell you a little bit about the recipes.

I bake the delicious Kümmelkuckel in february when a lot of snow gave us a lot of time to read old recipe, and to test new ones, like the beautiful Sacaduros.

The Baguette-Rolls I found in April on “The lost world of drfugawe”.Adding blended rice to the dough of this vietnamese baguette should make the crumb velvety and light. This is something I had to test!

The Vegetable pie with winter vegetables was a fast dinner in february, a perfect recipe for for a dinner after a long workday. For a relaxed Breakfast the  Yoghurt Sesame Rolls are the perfect choice. I found them at Pain de Martin. The dough is mixed fastly the evening before.  Little yeast, long fermentation and yoghurt, that is the right recipe for me

A lot of bloggers bake the Cacao rolls from Anikó in March. and I baked them, too. I added some cardamom to the filling – gorgeous.

As gorgeous as the Korni I saw on Living in a kitchen with puppies in June. After I chanced the recipe to my taste there was not so much left of the original recipe, but it was a great bread anyway.

When I bake scandinavian Cinnamon Swirls I followed my own recipe, but for forming the swirls I followed the instructions in this Video.

This autum we harvested a lot of apples and for some time the apple topic took overthe blog. The Applecake Elfriede from Petra was a delicious way to use some of the apples.

In December I finally managed to bake Lussekatter, a fine saffron bun which is a traditional treat on 13. December, the day of saint lucia.

A more daily kind of bread is this Seeded bread which gets a great flavour because it is made with two different preferments.

But the greatest project of this year was the wedding cake for my cousins wedding. Baking and especially the transport to party which was twenty kilometres away put my nerves on the edge. But everything worked, the cake reach the party without being damaged, the wedding couple liked the design and the taste!

Dear readers, I wish you a happy new year.

    Alles Liebe Mama
